Yellow Post-it notes are now found absolutely everywhere in both offices and the home. So what exactly is the secret of their fantasic commercial success? First, they aren't expensive to buy. Since they are small, the message can't be very long, so the writer has to be brief. As they are brightly-coloured, they seem to attract immediate attention. And when they are no longer needed they can be peeled off easily and thrown away. There are now many other kinds of Post-it notes: a variety of colours, several sizes and some unusual designs. However, most people feel the original design was and still is the best.
